The EGU23 General Assembly welcomed 18,831 registered attendees, of which 15,453 made their way to Vienna from 107 countries and 3,378 joined online from 105 countries. It was a great success with 16,357 presentations given in 938 sessions. Thereby, 57% of the abstracts were identified as contributions from Early Career Scientists (ECS).
The EGU General Assembly 2023 brings together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience. The EGU General Assembly reconvenes at the ACV in Vienna & online as EGU24, 14–19 April 2024 (https://www.egu24.eu/).
